*People Need Your Help*

TonyG***As all of you know I usually take this time to talk to you about the benefits of technology. I like to write about new technology applications that solve real business problems. I also like to write about how lenders are gaining significant return on investment from automation. But today is different. Today myself and others in the mortgage space are asking for your help. Please read on:

****I’m sure you know that parts of this country have been struck hard by horrible tornadoes. CNN is reporting that: “The storm system behind Monday’s twister and several on Sunday is threatening a large swath of the United States on Tuesday, putting 53 million people at risk of severe weather.

****“We could have a Round 3,” CNN Meteorologist Ivan Cabrera said. “Hopefully, it won’t be as bad.”

****“Tornadoes could strike the Plains, but likely not in devastated Moore, Oklahoma, where the threat of severe weather has diminished. In the bull’s-eye Tuesday are parts of north-central Texas, southeastern Oklahoma, and northern Arkansas and Louisiana, according to the National Weather Service.”

****As this pertains to the mortgage space, one of a la mode’s largest offices is in Oklahoma City, about 25 miles North of the path of yesterday’s devastating tornado. A la mode is a leader in providing appraisal-related technology and services to our industry. Reporting from Oklahoma City, Molly Dowdy of a la mode says:

****“We have already begun aid efforts for our employees and their families. Last night, we also reached out specifically to all appraisers, lenders and bank employees in the affected areas and we’ll do everything we can to help them now and in the weeks and months to come.

****“We are truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our colleagues in the mortgage industry from all across the country. Many of us on the Mercury Network team received dozens of e-mails and texts last night, and it brings so much comfort to know we will not face this alone. As we get tuned into the aid activities and urgent needs in the city today, we’ll keep our blog updated at, with information on how to help, as well as any specific needs of people who work alongside us in the mortgage industry.

****“Thank you so much for all your help,” Dowdy concluded.

****I would encourage everyone to do your part to help those impacted by these horrible storms.
